How It Works

The Goal Tracker uses your browser's localStorage to save goals automatically. No data leaves your machine and no account is required.

Creating Goals

Type a goal name and optionally set a target date, then press Enter or click Add. Each goal starts with zero milestones and a "Not Started" status.

Milestones & Progress

Expand a goal to add milestones — concrete steps toward completing the goal. Check off milestones as you complete them. The progress bar updates automatically based on the fraction of milestones completed.

Status Calculation

Status is calculated automatically: Not Started when no milestones are checked, In Progress when some are checked, Completed when all milestones are done, and Overdue when the target date has passed and the goal isn't complete. Goals with no milestones are marked "Not Started" until you add and check off milestones.

Reordering

Drag goals by their header to reorder them. Your preferred order is saved automatically.
